Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer

The level of foundation performance has come leaps and bounds in the last few years, and recent releases are evidence of this. When I initially heard about Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer, I assumed it was going to be a thick full coverage base, that meant concealer could be omitted. It turns out it’s reference to the fact that the foundation can be used as a foundation or a concealer.

It has a unique doe foot applicator, which is a nice change, but a very tiny OCD voice in my head questions the hygiene, that aside the foundation is a thick mouse texture, so I can see why a pump may not have worked in this instance.

I think WoC overlook Clinique bases, but they have been providing a wide shade range for a while now, without having to make a song and dance about it, and there price points are usually lower than adjacent counters in department stores. I have a few of their bases and am never disappointed, anyway back to the product at hand.

Clinique state this is a lightweight, oil-free, moisturising formula that won’t clog pores, to give a natural perfected look that lasts 12 hours. It’s a ‘slow-dry’ formula to make blending easier, with flexible wear, which allows the skin to breath. They claim the colour stays true through even through sweat and humidity, one dip of the wand is said to give you full face application or can be used to spot conceal, and it’s suitable for all skin types.

Firstly the ‘natural’ finish is dependent on how much you apply, the first time I used this foundation, I applied a lot and you could definitely see I had a lot of make up on, but it’s great the foundation is buildable. If you adjust the amount you apply you get a lovely demi-matte natural look, but I’m unable to test the sweat and humidity claims, given the current Antarctic conditions.

The foundation definitely lasts all day on my combination skin, although my natural oils do push through slightly in the T-Zone area (this is normal for me), so to keep the perfected I start with, one touch up is required. I have the shade Golden (24), which is a dead on colour match for me, perfect balance of yellow and orange I love in my foundations.

I really like this foundation, it gives a beautiful finish to my skin and lasts well throughout the day, the dual use is convenient and cheaper than buying a separate concealer and the doe foot applicator is a unique touch.

This foundation is priced at £25 and available to buy now. now.
