Describe the items in your makeup bag.

My makeup bag is an eclectic mix of wonders, the items range from the functional to the glamorous, a bit like me really. I’ve just returned from holiday so my makeup bag is a lot fuller than it would be normally. I have two Lipsticks: MAC in Satin, Revlon in Black Cherry, a Doll Lipgloss in Forbidden and Carmex Lip Balm.

I have a number of lip products in my bag that I carry around with me, at any one time I might have two lipsticks and always some lip moisturiser. I love either Carmex or Vaseline to keep away from those distressing chapped lip situations. I get really distressed when my lips are chapped so I have to make sure I keep them moistured.

I love lipsticks at the moment - I go in phases - I used to love lipgloss in my twenties and strangely (or not) I was more of a lipstick girl in my teens (I used to wear a shade of L’Oreal purple lipstick like it was going out of fashion). Now I’m back in on the lipstick. I’m looking for the perfect dark brown shade of lipstick so if your readers have any suggestions let me know.

Other products in my makeup bag are listed below:

Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation This is a great powder and really works well with my skin. Mary Kay never gets enough exposure in my opinion, I think people always think it’s not glamourous but some of my favourite products have been from Mary Kay.

Iman Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup A little goes a long way with this liquid foundation, it gives great coverage .

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector This is a great illuminator, it makes my skin look great, I use it as a highlighter before I go out in the evenings.

Avon Mini Eye Shadow Palette I was gifted this and it’s a life saver, especially on holiday as I love eyeshadows and my usual eye shadow palette would just take up too much room in my suitcase. It has four shades and is designed to create the perfect day-to evening look.

Elf Professional Shine Eraser I have combination skin and once in a while my nose gets a bit shiny so this is a great tool to keep myself looking fresh.

Bourjois Liquid Eyeliner Another wonderful product, it took some practice as used to only use pencils but now I use both interchangeably.

KIKO Waterproof Mascara An affordable yet great quality product. I love mascaras full stop though, I usually use two or three different ones at any given time.

Liz Earle Healthy Glow Cream Blush This is a really great alternative to powder blush (which is my usual go to), it’s light and not too oily. I use this to glam up for an evening function.

Hand Cream I don’t have time for dry hands, ashy skin is not cute

Also in my makeup bag are basics such as a makeup brush (which reminds me I need more brushes), a compact mirror; I need this to survive, it’s like air. LOL I’m joking… but it’s important. It also has sentimental value, I bought it in Paris many years ago. I also have a hand sanitzer - I think I might be becoming over-reliant on this stuff, I can’t go anywhere without it … does that mean I’m becoming a germaphobe?

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag?

Revlon Black Cherry is currently my favourite shade of lipstick, it’s such a deep and lucsious shade of red. It suits me perfectly and makes me feel sophisticated and sexy, who doesn’t want to feel sexy? However it’s a shame that The Head of Revlon recently made some derogative and disturbing terms about black people and ethnic minorities.

Where did you get your makeup bag?

I received my makeup bag free with a Clinique purchase. I’ve had it for at least three years now and it’s the perfect size for travelling. It obviously doesn’t fit my makeup treasures in there but it’s a great bag. I have about three make up bags and it’s one of my favourites because the faux white leather makes me think of Miami days and Monaco nights. I didn’t realise how much of a diva I was until I did this interview. Thanks for teaching me something about myself.
