Joy took time out to tell us about the beauty product she cannot live without.

I absolutely love the beautyblender sponge. I found out about this product on youtube from I believe the Chapman sisters known as Pixiwoo. They used it in one of their videos and it piped my interest. I then saw them at the International Makeup Artists Trade Show (IMATS) and I raced to get a pack of them. I tried it on myself the following day and fell in love. Now i use them on every client. I have a dozen of them at home. I take a few with me to jobs depending on how many clients I will be working on and I keep the rest in a plastic case in my makeup storage. They are quite durable if maintained and cleaned properly. I’ve had them for over three years now without replacing any.

It’s the most amazing blending tool I have. I use it primarily to blend out cream products. I apply concealer under the eyes with a concealer brush and blend it out with the beauty blender for a seamless finish. It’s also ideal for full coverage cream foundations. The brilliance with this product is the fact that the intensity of products can be controlled. By using the blender dry, it gives more product intensity so perfect for full coverage foundations or spray some water all over the blender and use to apply, this gives less product intensity.
