What's In My Makeup Bag by Natalie Campbell

She is also the founder of social enterprise, A Very Good Company plus on to of that she is on the board of organisations such as Nominet Trust Board, Big Lottery Fund, UnLtd and the Civil Service Communication. She took time out to show us the products in her makeup bag.

Describe the items in your makeup bag
Before I go into the details of my makeup bag I need to put out a disclaimer that I am a makeup novice, I don't wear concealer, foundation, blusher/bronzer or eyeliner unless I'm on TV or taking professional photos. Boring I know. I might add some MAC Strobe Cream as a primer at a friends request on a night out (I can grease my hands with the oil from my face). I can't do an eye flick thing as much as I'd love to. I spent $30 dollars in New York on a brush and gel to give it try though. I try.

With my disclaimer out, my daily makeup regime is mascara, brows and lips. In under five minutes. I love lip colours so I probably have at least 30 shades floating about. My go-to brands and colours are NARS Red Square and Rita, MAC Flat Out Fabulous Matte or Oh Baby (I've worn it since my late teens) and Spite glosses. I've just discovered Clarins Instant Natural Lip Perfectors which are great for those zero makeup days. My lip colours mean everything to me, they are an instant statement and it means I don't need foundation or eye shadow because I look polished and made-up in less than five minutes. Time is the only thing we can never get back so I prefer fast face action.

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag?
My favourite thing is probably anything from MAC, they have created products for Black skin long before most brands and I always get a good service when I pop in for a colour upgrade. I like my Benefit Eyelash Primer for an instant eye lift without having to wear black mascara. I do like the look of the challenger brands coming through but I'm unlikely to go out of my way to buy them without a recommendation.

Where did you get your makeup bag?
Free from Clarins, my go-to face care brand, I've yet to branch out into high-end face care because I stick with what works for me. I pick up a batch buy whenever I go through an airport. With my low maintenance approach it won't surprise you to know I don't take my makeup bag out that often, I'll grab a few lipsticks, my Bobbi Brown Brow Kit and chuck them loose in my bag. I'm sorry to anyone appalled by my approach (bear with covered eyes emoji) but I always look on point and that's the main thing.
