Our Top Five Micellar Waters

Micellar Water really came into the limelight a few years ago when tons of beauty bloggers began raving about the wonders of Bioderma. Some would stock up on bottles at French pharmacies whenever they took a trip across the channel. After Bioderma decided to launch the product in the UK we have seen an avalanche of micellar water products being released by numerous brands from budget to high end. I have to admit I was very sceptical about this product, which was described as some sort of wonder item that removes makeup from your face. To be honest I couldn't even work out exactly what it was. Was it a light cleanser or a super toner? After a bit of research I found out that micellar water is a product that removes makeup and cleanses your skin, without you having to rinse afterwards. It contains tiny round balls of cleansing molecules that float in the water. When you apply the product to your skin, the cleansing agents come into contact with oil and dirt on your face, allowing them to be swept away quickly and efficiently. The way to use it is to soak a cotton wool ball with the solution and sweep it across your whole face.

We feature our Top Five Micellar Waters.

Nivea Daily Essentials 3-in-1 Sensitive Caring Micellar Water This is a very popular product - everyone kept raving about it when we posted it on our Instagram page. It is perfect for sensitive skin, due to the lack of parabens, colour and perfume within the formula. It absorbs well in cotton pads, making it easy and mess-free when applying it to your face.

Pure Essentials Micellar Water by Lloyds Pharmacy The product that made me fall in love with micellar water; I love putting on makeup and wearing it but detest taking it. Cleansing Wipes are a big no no and at times I can't be bothered to do a real cleanse so this item came in really handy. Two swipes and I am done, mascara and all. Plus it's soft and kind to your skin - even my Mum likes it and she is really fussy about what she puts on her face.
