LUSH Roots

As someone who has very thick hair I am a huge fan of the pre-poo treatment aka using a product to prepare your hair for the big wash. #teamnatural have been raving about Roots by LUSH stating how it leaves your hair all soft and lustrous so I was keen to try it out.

Although it is a scalp treatment which contains various types of mint to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles, it also works as a great hair treatment.

I applied it to my dry hair straight after I had taken out my braids, using generous amounts and making sure I covered my edges. I combed the product through with a wide toothed comb to get rid of the knots. Afterwards my scalp felt very tingly but in a good way. The instructions are that you leave the treatment in for 20 minutes but I prefer to leave it in overnight and wash it out the next morning and follow up with a shampoo and conditioner.

Roots contains conditioning and strengthening extra virgin olive oil, honey, and balancing nettle. It also has a delicate perfume which comes from a blend of neroli, grapefruit, and sweet orange oil. This product left my hair feeling a lot softer and tangle free; also a lot easier to comb through and my scalp felt very calm. The product didn't feel too heavy and smelt absolutely lovely. I do admit that I didn't apply it from the 'roots' as suggested and I started from the tip of my hair. Next time I will I will try it that way. I used Roots twice and the second time had much better results due to the fact that I took time to really comb the product through.

LUSH Roots is priced at £10.75 from 225g and £18.50 for 450g.
