Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer

Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer

The Overachiever Concealer by Huda Beauty has quite a grand name, so I was expecting a lot. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. Huda Beauty has described The Overachiever Concealer as "the MVP of your makeup bag: a concealer that works as hard as you do".

It claims to be multi-tasking and high-coverage with 31% pure pigment to conceal and skincare actives to soothe and protect. The actives include Albizia Julibrissin, Green Tea and Jericho Rose extract. The zamac tip claims to instantly sooth and de-puff on application.

The concealer comes in 20 shades and my skin tone tends to sit in the middle of most colour charts. I chose shades that looked more peach in the hope of getting some colour correction. I tried Graham Cracker, Toasted Almond, Peanut Butter and Salted Caramel.

After I tried them, I realised there were letters after the shades and I had picked all of the light to medium brown shades which were labelled with a "G" which I assume means "golden". Peanut Butter was the best shade match for me to conceal and Toasted Almond would be my highlighting shade for days when I wear foundation. Interestingly, this corresponded with the Huda Beauty website (which I visited after testing) so either I'm getting better at colour matching or the shades are intuitive, or a bit of both!

The formula is a thick, creamy liquid which applies smoothly from the zamac tip. The tip is cooling, refreshing and soothing so it was a pleasure to apply the concealer. This Concealer is full coverage as claimed and I found that the coverage was better when I blended it with my fingers rather than using a brush. I prefer to do this with all my concealers anyway.

It dries matte but the instructions recommend setting with the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Powder. This was too drying for me as I have dry skin anyway but it set well with other loose powder. The concealer lasted longer than many other concealers I have tried. I didn't wear this product every day to test the claimed skincare benefits but I wouldn’t rely on my concealer to help my skin as I use eye cream although I guess it all helps.

The concealer has a light scent; it smells like a powdery perfume which is pleasant and quickly fades. I was very impressed with The Overachiever Concealer. I liked the ease of application, the soothing tip and the coverage so I would purchase this.

Huda Beauty Overachiever Concealer is priced at £23.00. It is available from Harrods and Cult Beauty.
