My Skincare Life - Dr. Ewoma Ukeleghe

Ewoma Ukeleghe is a medical and cosmetic Doctor and clinical expert in skincare and non-surgical enhancement. She is also the founder of SKNDOCTOR, which is a skin clinic. She took time out of her busy day to tell us about her skincare regime.

I have really found vivid memories of skincare products as a child. They weren't as fancy or luxe as the stuff I use now, it was all products bought from the hair shop. My mum was always obsessed with looking presentable and well moisturised. My siblings tell me that as a toddler, I would often be found trying to eat Palmers Cocoa Butter.

My Mum was my influence in regards to skincare. She has the most amazing skin; no pimples, smooth and even. She's actually always had nicer skin than me. She is a woman that takes pride in her appearance, and believe that a true woman does the same. Her routines were a bit questionable growing up - super astringent toners and thick butters on her face but it worked for her.

When I was a teen I used everything that I could find in Superdrug - Boots was too fancy for me. I had acne so I'd use brands like Clean and Clear, Clearasil and Oxy. My teen years taught me that drying out oily skin is the worst thing you can do. My skin loves active and prescriptive skincare which is what I use on my skin today. Everything I do for clients in the clinic is what I do for myself. Lots of treatments like chemical peels, microneedling and botox.

The brands I am loving right now are ZO, La Roche-Posay, Supergoop, Glossier, Cerave and Skin Proud
