Black Skin Directory
Aesthetician, Dija Ayodele has launched the Black Skin Directory to make it easier for Women of Colour to connect with skincare professionals in the UK. The website sets out to address the needs of Black skin which has often been overlooked.
Results found that a whooping 92% (of those who took part in a s survey) experienced difficulties in finding skincare professionals with relevant expertise and experience in treating darker skin tones.
Black skin concerns are different to those of Caucasians because it has contains more melanin, plus it can be vulnerable to hyperpigmentation and keloid scarring. So it is imperative that it is treated by someone who is experienced in treating skin of colour - whether Black or white.
This is where the Black Skin Directory comes in; this unique new platform will make it easier for Black women to find nationwide qualified aesthetic professionals who are experienced in treating Black skin. Also on the website there will be plenty of tips and education on Black skin and information about events on skincare.
